چکیده

The subject of polymeric drugs has recently achieved wide attention and is discussed anlong scientists interested in macrbmolecular science and in biological and pharmaceutical disciplines1). The general concept is also penetrating into regulatory authorities responsible for administering the areas of food and drng related subjects'. W e are limiting our discussion on polymeric drugs to materials where the polymer consists entirely of synthetic polymers with functional groups of known or potential biological activity. Such drugs are defined to include any agent which, upon introduction into a living system, causes a physiological response. Not only curative but also prophy!actic agents are included in this definition. ,

Polymeric micelles as cutaneous drug delivery system in normal skin and dermatological disorders

The easy accessibility of skin made dermal application, one of the approaches for local drug therapy. Effectiveness of topical drug application is depended on different parameters such as skin barrier properties, physicochemical properties of drug and vehicle, and interaction between drug and its vehicle with the skin layers. In this review, an overview of skin structure and feature of polymeri...

Quantum chemical study of Interaction of PLGA polymeric nanoparticles as drug delivery with anti-cancer agents of thiazoline

Thiazoles derivatives are consisted in chemical compounds such as antimicrobial and anticancer medicine. Since polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) polymeric nanoparticles has been conversed about nanomedicine applications and particularly as drug delivery systems. Because of molecular self-assemblies and biodegradability of PLGA polymer, it can be used to carry anti-cancer and antimicrobial drug...

Polymer-Based Nanomaterials and Applications for Vaccines and Drugs

Nanotechnology plays a significant role in drug development. As carriers, polymeric nanoparticles can deliver vaccine antigens, proteins, and drugs to the desired site of action. Polymeric nanoparticles with lower cytotoxicity can protect the delivered antigens or drugs from degradation under unfavorable conditions via a mucosal administration route; further, the uptake of nanoparticles by anti...

Polymeric biomaterials for the delivery of platinum-based anticancer drugs.

Since cisplatin, cis-diamminedichloroplatinum(ii), received FDA approval for use in cancer treatment in 1978, platinum-based drugs have been one of the most widely used drugs for the treatment of tumors in testicles, ovaries, head and neck. However, there are concerns associated with the use of platinum-based anticancer drugs, owing to severe side effects and drug resistance. In order to overco...

Electrospun polymeric nanofibers for transdermal drug delivery

Conventional transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) have been designed for drug delivery through the skin. These systems use the permeability property of stratum corneum, the outermost surface layer of the skin. Applying polymeric micro and nanofibers in drug delivery has recently attracted great attention and the electrospinning technique is the preferred method for polymeric micro-nanofiber...
